No, there wasn't a white F4U-1A, I use a blank off-white layer while I test out my panel lines, though, so there are no distracting bits of color underneath.

While tracing the lines on the existing F4U-1A default model and going through my references, I decided several of them were "off", others didn't belong, and still more should be added.  I ended up starting from scratch with four or five books open, including one drawn to scale, a pair of dividers, and a ruler.  Fun stuff.

Here's the result.  The aircraft that will eventually be modeled is pre landing light on the leading edge. (Robert Hanson, VMF-215).  If you see any errors let me know.
