what happens is the rod stretches or bearing wears and gets squished out / or starts to spin ..this creates tons of heat ,stops oiling and weakens the rod then it beats its self into broken submission and out it comes ....
ps. your oil pump is now toast (dont you dare reuse it , or the pick up)
your lifters/ push rods will probely have bearing metal in them too .
