Anyone using CH analog rudders with USB stick?
« on: December 31, 2001, 08:15:00 PM »
I got a Saitek X45 setup for Christmast and
it works fine.  I just can't get used to
having the rudder controls on the throttle.

So I went to Stickworks and got the drivers
there for adding a "rudder only" device as
stick #2 in Windows 98.

I have the Rudder installed as stick #2 now
and when I calibrate it appears that the dot
moves from the upper left to lower right,
just as the docs on the drivers say they do.

My problem is calibrating the rudder inside
of AH so that the analog pedals function in
place of the finger rudders on the throttle.

Has anyone out there had luck installing any
analog rudders along with a USB stick or
throttle?

Any help would be appreciated.

I use usb peddles so this may not apply but with the x-36 instead of the combo driver from stick works I just select my rudder peddles for rudder in AH setup on the z axis. AH allows for multiple controllers unlike some older games. I then set the rudder on my throttle to banded and use it for rudder trim.

I have the X-45 and was feeling the same, just nothing like having those pedals underfoot  :)
I used the stickworks driver set to create an entry for my rudder pedals (analogue CH pedals on my gameport) and made them joystick #2 in my windows gaming devices.
I then went into setup in AH, and selected rudder in the joystick setup, you have to be sure to select rudder, then choose the rudder on joystick #2, then either x or y axis will work (if you are using the stickworks drivers, which I recommend)and then be sure to click on "set" before clicking "apply" or AH will not keep the new setting, and will revert back to using the rudder switch on the throttle.  That one had me going for a bit, until I caught on.
All in all it has been working just fine for me.
