Hehe, the newest target: ICELAND. Muchcheaper and safer than bombing the mid east, and also an economy booster.

It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Why bother, it already looks like it was nuked years ago. :p All those poor trolls calcified in the explosion!:eek:

But I suspect something is hidden under the Perlan. Water tanks? I don't believe it:noid It looks like something out of a Bond movie.

The Brits walked in on the 10th of may 1940 (thanks god) and met the welcome.
Germans were preparing 2 ocean liners for the job. They would have been here some week later.
The Brits being first was the only thing to shock Hitler on that day, since may the 10th was also the day (the morning) that Nazi troops rolled into the Netherlands, thereby opening the western front in 1940. He went into a towering rage, - what else.
BTW, talking of troops, I belive that the British home army has some 80.000. Only!. Is that true?

Got mine in 97 after finishing 20 in 95.  It took them a bit to catch up to my anniversary. I had to remind them, twice.

Alex, in XIX century one corsair ship crew took it with a dozen of guns, and terrorised them for several months, I am not joking, I can look up for sources.

Angus, I always suggested to bomb Russia instead of Yugoslavia or other small countries,  at least if you bomb Novosibirsk - then the chances of hitting an apartment house in Bulgaria are much smaller then when you aim at Chinese embassy in Belgrad. In fact - you can drop all the ordnance used in WWI with both A-bombs somewhere in Taimyr - and noone will ever notice it. We can easily offer several million square miles if someone just wants to drop bombs somewhere, with special targets for "precision weapons" like ice-jams on Great Siberian Rivers that flood huge areas upstream every year. It's cheaper to have someone else doing it then using our own frontline-bombers.

Angus, IIRC Ribbentorp wrote that invasion into Iceland was a reason for invading Denmark to "protect it's further territorial integrity"... A friendly act, my ass...

You've got this one somehow wrong I'm afraid, Denmark was captured by the Germans on the 9th of April, a month before the British captured Iceland. The Norwegian invasion also started there, was already launched on the 2nd of April.
BTW, the Danish collapsed when the LW showed off over Copenhagen, - judging from the experience of the Polish and the Dutch, the Danish belived that fighting would call upon the LW reducing Copenhagen to rubble.
