Well, if any of you A-26 Invader voters also have FS2004/9 or FSX on your systems, the various A-26 add-ons are fun.

About a dozen skins out already too, Covering WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and civilian use versions.  B, C, and K models.  FM is quick and nimble for a medium bomber.  When running low, and light, a good bit of negative trim is needed to keep the nose down.

A few screen shots.  Would have loved to see it in AHII, but at least I get a good idea of what I'll be missing (didn't play AW in the day).  Folks at Sim-Outhouse did good work.  Spent some time with the sim around Jackson Hole, Wyoming running NOE.  A few pics over Wake.

Guess I'll try a K-model over South Vietnam next time.

Is it me, or does our water look bland, dull, and depressing when compared to the vibrant blue water in the final image?

It is you.  You are bland, dull and depressing.

Yep, they are free.  You may have to log into Sim-Outhouse to download.... I'm not sure, I log in as habit, but that is free as well if that is the case.

I've got 5 different versions of the Invader on FSX now.  Since we are not likely to see the 'Vader in AHII for the foreseeable future, this will have to do for 'Vader fans.

So far, my favorite is to run NOE around Jackson Hole Wyoming and Yellowstone Park.  Low clouds.  Sharp mountains.  Some ridge running.

It's been out for about a week now, and already about 10 repaints can be found that I know of.  Talk about a fire-bomber with mission being worked on for the future (for those that want to be Richard Dreyfuss instead of Ben Affleck).

The A-26 download includes a readme file with plane limitations and proceedures for preflight, landing, cruise and so forth by the book, but just being familiar with FXS of FS2004 controls will work just fine.

Very nice.

Heres a link to the home page for the 13th Bomb Squadron Association "The Devil's Own, Grim Reapers"....which flew Invaders during WW2 and Korea.

http://www.13thbombsquadron.org/scrapbook/scrapbook.html

They have some pages with aircraft pictures, piloy/crew narratives and aircraft info.

I did manual install for the Invader for FSX.  The auto installer might work, but it's easy enough to use the manual, and I get to glance at the files at what all is in there.   Plus it's good to know how to do it manually, as most repaints added need to be done manually any way.

Thanks.  Spent some time looking at that web site.

Sure wish we'd had won. Would have been nice to have something to spend all these buff perk points on.
