Valid Tactic or New Degree of Lameness
« on: April 09, 2007, 10:56:46 PM »
Was flying Bish today in LW Orange off of a CV.

There was a heck of a good CV battle going on by Rook Base and Port.

As im taking off from CV alas incoming C-47 at around 9K.

Sure enough out pop the troops Puffy Ack and ship guns immediately begin firing on the dropping troops.

Now no enemy planes made it to the CV but had this been better coordinated planes could have approcahed the CV without haviung to worry about the ack.

The question is:

Valid Tactic or Completely Lame Gameplay

My Vote

LAME

One the one hand, it's rather lame...

On the other, any country that lets a goon into it's airspace at 9k undetected deserves to have it's ack occupied for 5 minutes.

On the feakishly mutated 3rd hand, any pilot with the patience to get a goon to 9k and be undetected by the enemy deserves to drop his troops.

It's lame but... someone let him do it.  Same as dropping them over an airfield.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

It's lame when your on the receiving end, but a valid tactic if you manage to pull it off. You know that's how the game is played.

What makes it even worse however is you coming to the board and posting about, because now every lame noob that likes to try crap like that is going to go out and do it.

Only 9K is lame... s/he should have dropped those troops @ 15K+ to keep the ship guns busier longer. Even better is multiple troop sets at 20K spaced out evenly.

Simple solution too:

Jump in ship gun and wait for those nice big juicey bombers to come in and rack up kills.

The C-47 is the slowest, worst climbing, least defended thing in the game; its meat hanging on a string: and people are complaining about it?

Actually it's exploitation of a known bug. It's been reported to HTC at least a once, maybe more.

I believe it was Ripsnort who once organized a mass c-47 drop that so bogged down the server that it crashed.
