Can't drive GVs any more

As of a couple weeks ago, I discovered I can't operate GVs any more.

Yes, I know you hit E to start the engine.  I know you hit Q to put it in gear.

The engine starts, and I can change the gears.  But they won't drive when I press the joystick forward.  The turrets won't turn and the weapons won't fire.

The PT boat will go, in a very straight line, when I hit full throttle, but I can't fire or rotate guns.

I get a message that I'm using "Control Mode 2" when I get in a GV, but I don't know if that's the problem, and I don't know how to change it.

What could have caused this?  It worked fine for a long time.

Sounds like you just don't have mode 2 mapped. If so, it's an easy one:

Go to: Options/Controls/Map controllers. Select your appropriate controller from the list (joystick/mouse/whatever you are using). Then select "Mode 2" (from the "Mode Selection" dropdwon menu. Then click on "copy mode 1" button.

You should now be able to drive GVs.

Freakin' computers.  I hates 'em.

You gave me what I needed to fix the problem, then as I started up AHII and got in a Jeep, the freakin' thing worked.  I'd have blamed the fix on the upgrade, but I tested it twice since the upgrade, AND IT DIDN'T WORK THEN!!!
