Downloads impossible - the IP address is used elsewhere!
« on: January 31, 2001, 10:57:00 AM »
 Hi guys,
It is impossible for me to download patches or updates from your website download page http://www.hitechcreations.com/.

Example:
The URL for the download of the latest version is ftp://208.221.133.59/AH1056.EXE
When I click on it I get "[Network Error: Connection reset by peer]" message.
I have no problem downloading other files where address is specified symbolicly as www.hitechcreations.com

I did some investigation and here are the results:
 1) tracert 208.221.133.59 is successfull but it indicates that the target site is amasuperbike.com !!!
 2) Entering http://208.221.133.59/  into the browser opens the same web page as http://amasuperbike.com

Obviously, ftp://208.221.133.59 tries to access ftp server on amasuperbike.com site rather then the one on your site www.hitechcreations.com  and fails.

One of you - HTC or AMASuperbike - is using the IP address 208.221.133.59 by mistake.
I posted a note "Download problems" in the Technical Support Forum on January 8th but there was no responce.

My company's ISP is www.appliedtheory.com  (New York City)
I will be glad to supply you with more information if required.

 Anyone have any ideas?

miko

My browser tries to go to that ama superbike site too.  I haven't had any trouble downloading from HTC though...  (I just tried downloading the patch, and all seemed to work fine.)

It is the correct IP address and is for ftp download only. Not sure why your browser is not downloading it.
