Sorry, it's not an issue of GETTING USED TO IT...

Then don't play Im tiered of you crying about it if it gives you headaches don't play if you don't like it DON'T PLAY.  Man your like a 3 year old whinnin and yelling about it look im sure HTC is working on some way to help the darkness and the greenishness of the terrain but man give them time to react!  Threatening to leave after 1 day of the new version is ludicrous. HTC is a small company and want the best for there costumer's they have a small staff and it will take them at least a week to fix it to some extents please stop whinnying give HTC a lil time to work on the problem.

Sorry for the out burst folks im just supper tiered of the crying HTC is most likely working a way to fix it so just be patient and bare with them for a while

I'm relatively patient and understanding in regards to bugs.  What I have no patience for are the fools who try to insist that bugs don't exist, or that they're neat features, or that since they don't notice the bugs then they are not important.  Those people are perverse - they take delight in a state of wrongness.  They make the world stink.

You sort of assume here that you're naturally right and those who think that the bugs don't exist (or are unimportant) and the features are nice, are either peverse or blind, and are fools either way.

I think that this sort of arrogance makes the world stink.

*sighs*
Just give them time, the colors are a bit too dark.
They are not supper dark, they are also not CARTOON like before.
But everything looks more real, color tone/tint wise.
Whats missing is lighting.

Would be a nice touch if clouds would cast a "basic" shadow below them.
"Shrugs"

To each his own, i have seen worse.

I do belive this is some kind of "bug" rather than the textures them selfs.
When the patch first came out, i remember siting on the field in my firefly..bunch of people sayin' how everything was to dark, then all of a sudden the world got bright again "like back in the old days" about 15 mins later,it got real dark-ER again.

So MABY..just maby it is more of a time/rendering error than the maps being to dark themselfs.

So you KNOW how another persons system is set up?

So you KNOW the physical conditon of the other person?

So you KNOW that absolutley no one that participates in AH has any physical problems, eye problems, lack of computer knowledge, and they all must be like you, or have systems just like yours?????

HOT NEWS FLASH!!!

There are people that enjoy AH from a wheelchair, have poor eyesight, are NOT very computer literate, are in some way physically impaired, don't have GOOD flight controls, the list goes on....................

another point!

They pay MONEY to participate......  probably sounds strange to you but this TENDS to make them feel they have a right to complain.

It's just possible that the crew at AH have grown to expect such reactions.

When dealing with the public such things are the norm rather then the exception.

The attitude I THINK you are displaying SEEMS like one of a FANBOY.  (thats nice but I'm pretty sure HTC and crew are VERY CAPABLE of taking care of themselves!!!!!)

Threats were NEVER made by me.  I stated FACT!

While I have found a cure for my problems others are still having similar problems.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU HUSKY1:  :furious

Who are you to take such an attitude toward those that are having trouble?

Who are you to tell US what to think and what to do?

Are you going to start PAYING for our participation in AH?

Has it occured to you that if we do NOT complain, point out problems, report bugs, that nothing will change?

Has it occured to you that if many quit AH, as you SEEM to be incouraging, HTC will lose income?  And AH will become LESS then what it is now?

IMHO you SIR are way out of line on this!

I like the new landscape but....

I DIDN'T know what it actually looked like because it was SOOOO DARK on my monitor.

Now that I can see it I think it's great!

(YOU WILL NOTE HERE: I NEVER SAID I DIDN'T LIKE THE LANDSCAPE, I DID OBJECT TO THE CONTRAST/GAMMA AND REPORTED I WAS GETTING HEADACHES FROM THE AH SETUP)

IMHO you SIR, perhaps, owe some people within the AH community an apoligy. (NO I neither want nor expect one from you SIR, as IMHO you don't know your backside from a hole in the ground, and therefore do not matter.  Furthermore IMHO you're NOT thinking your reply through, instead you're FEELING it and then verbelizing those feelings)

Why?

Because as I have said over and over I GREATLY ENJOY AH!

Because I want to see it continue!

Because I want to see it grow! ( yaaaa even with all the NooBs that up la7's or spit16's and comence to HO'n everyone and everything LOL)

BTW many others that added their complaint/concern/problem report to this thread, and those I have spoken with online but have NOT yet added their complaint/concern/problem report to this thread, PROBABLY feel the same.

I DO NOT claim any sorrow whatsoever for this rant!  Stilll got allot of RANT left about such people!!!  (might not wanna get me goin here :(    *$@#%&*$# :furious )

Right - but my statements are still quite true, and Hitech would do well to take note of them because paying customers are affected every bit as much as non-paying customers.  And - unlike you - a lot of both paying and non-paying customers are noticing the problem.

Well, you've clearly never seen the ground from the air, then.  For that matter, you've probably never seen the sun on the earth at all.  Do you live in a cave, or just a really dense forest?

I really, really do not want to find my camera, leave my house, and drive to a place high enough for me to take pictures of the landscape on a sunny day, noon and dusk.  But if you fruitcakes don't quit insisting that this darkness is "more realistic" or "better," I'm going to have to do just that.

I give up, you're a cretin with the IQ of a shrimp.

PS ; it's not dark on my screen , only on your screen.

That's not true.  It's dark on my monitor as well as those of many other players.

I'm neither perverse or contrary (at least in this context:D ) As I stated in another thread, I had no problems with darkness or headaches. It looks fine to me, bright and clear. It is more realistic and seems better to me. The colours are different and to me better. I'm a pilot in real life and to me it more closely resembles what I see from the air than the previous terrain at low and medium altitudes. At high altitudes it doesn't look so good. To me it's like some old style flight sims.

What is obvious is that some people are finding it too dark and lacking in detail while at the same time many like me do not.  I lack the computer savvy to even speculate as to the cause. But it is evident to me that my computer set up is optimal in terms of graphics. Clearly for others it is not.

There is therefore an issue to be taken seriously and investigated and resolved. I guess I am lucky not to have come across the problem.

No doubt HTC will resolve the problem in time.

You do not see this?

Of course, if our monitors are drastically different, then you may see that picture differently than I do.  To me, that picture's very dark; and all of my many other games look normal.  I even checked that calibration thingy Skuzzy recommended, and it showed my settings to be correct.

Regardless, if that picture looks normal on your monitor, then a picture of a real landscape on a sunny day must look unbearably bright.
