Tippin over?
« on: April 12, 2007, 11:14:26 AM »
Since the new terrain features have been implemented, I and others have had many issues with tanks tipping over or being spawned on to position that cause unrecoverable spin--film of the spin has been sent in.  This has cost me perks, and caused me give up proxie kills.  I refuse to tank anymore until these problems are fixed.  It is no fun spawning into battle only to end up spinning or be driving along and then wham, tip over and giving some knucklehead gets a proxie just for being there.

The new terrein looks good, but way too few places for GVs to hide now.  The Sherman Firefly is cool, but its missing the flamethrower to be a true Firefly.

I love to GV and do Jabo missions vs GVs, get used to it.  Being good at one helps in the other.

Flamethrower?

Gonna have to explain that comment.  Don't recall a Firefly having a Flamethrower.

According to my knowledge, Sherman Firefly had no flamethrower. So would you please state a source to back up your claim?

FireFly did not have a flamethrower.   Is it possible one was attached in the field, sure.   There were other versions of the Sherman that did have flamethrowers...

I think he's confusing the Sherman VC Firefly with the Sherman CG Weber. The Weber has a flamethrower, and is prone to tipping over in high winds, on rough terrain, or when you're drinking too much to be using it.

Combat Footage on the Military Channel about Iwo Jima.  I think it was the show Battlefront.  I could be wrong, as could the rest of ya.

Yeah, the Brits used the Firefly as a flamethrower tank when they took Iwo Jima.

Apparently the Germans were terrified.

M4A3R3 was the only version of the Sherman equiped with a flame thrower. It was used in Europe as well as the Pacific but was not produced in large numbers.

The Firefly we have in the game now was given that name by the Brits. It was a standard Sherman tank modified to carry the Brit 17lbr anti tank gun. Not a flame thower.
