My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

This is a thread to watch.  Some of the hardcores here will slam him for being a subversive.

By todays standard of subversive behavior (just turn on TV or watch a Hollyweird flick) his stuff is pre-school subversive in comparison.

Sluggish, that is a bizarre avatar!

Several years ago I posted Vonnegut's article here. Now I wish we could have anyone here in Russia with the same level of public respect and talent to write a 2-page satire on current situation in our "multinational country".

I hope you guys understand what you have lost. Hamingway, Heinlein, Vonnegut. Mind-bending literature. The only writer who worked in XX century and definetely was above THEIR level was pan Stanislaw. I mean Lem.

From all Russian literators worth reading in translation I can only name Gogol' and Dostoyevskiy. And if we come "down" to sci-fi - Strugatsky brothers with their brilliant picture of XXII century Communism.

So it goes.

liked his cameo in Rodney Dangerfield's "Back to School"  When Rodney hired Kurt to write a paper on one of his books and he flunked... funny stuff!

Can't find the exact page, but I'm pretty sure Kurt wrote the ultimate perspective somewhere in Catch 22 when he said something about "it" being "only the hairy end of a wet gut."  :o
