I am really interested in all of this, and have a question. How do you zoom in for a closeup of a plane without getting the gross distortion that Aces High zoom gives you, such as greatly oversized or elongated wings, etc? That has ruined every attempt I have done to make a good film.

A lot of great flight sim combat films have overcome this problem (Warbirds and IL2 for example), but only a few of them are in Aces High. Do I need some other software, such as Adobe Premier, to do it?

Thanks in advance for help.

I to have had the same problem. One of the things that can you can do to help is when your recoding from aces high film viewer make sure the aces high film viewer is in full screen that will make the planes more symmetrical. In some ways, it wont 100% but it will help.

Or....

Just press the 'Z' key.
"...and then we discovered why. Why this 'Cheech', who had fought with gods and demons, why he flew the Zeke. He was being kind, giving us a chance to run away."

cc Husky01, that does help a little. I am going to try a FRAPS film clip in Adobe Premier, and use that to crop and zoom in. Detail may suffer a bit but it should work.

TinmanX, pressing the Z key when in Film Viewer (External View) and then zooming in gives as much distortion as it does in external view offline. If Aces High could just fix that one problem, it would help a lot of guys to make great films!

I have to say that I have never experienced that. Perhaps you could post some screenshots as an example?

Ok here ya go Tinman.

Notice that in picture 1 when the aces high film view isnt not at full screen how the nose of teh ME-262 looks extremely elongated.

Now when we make film viewer full size notice how it does not fix the problem 100% but it does make it alot better.

Well, here's how it loosk on my screen. I've tried to re-create the same shot you used for comparison;

Film Viewer shots;

No Z pressed;

Z pressed;

Full screen;

No Z pressed;

Z pressed;

As you can see, I am not having the issues that you are having with scale. It's almost as if your screen resolution settings are set to 16:9 but your film viewer is still displaying in 4:3.

Thats cause my window isnt not opened all the way im not talking the whole screen being a picture im talking about the whole screen being the aces high film viewer program.  I was stating that if  you do it that way it will make things look distorted.
