If you want to expand your horizons a bit and maybe learn some different tactics and gunnery. To learn you need to fall down a few times, so dont get upset over your "score" just fly them and have fun. Fragile egos rarely improve much because they dont like to ever get shot down to learn something new.

LOL I can assure you my ego has been tested over the last few months.

I don't like the weak WEP of the Ki-84 but everything else is pretty nice.

Use the WEP when you need it, like in 30 second bursts/dashes. That's how you use WEP in a Ki-84. Less than 1 minute at a time, primarily to accelerate when needed, or extra hang time in vertical fight.

Also, best to stay under 11K alt with a Ki-84. It has a decent performance curve around 17K to 21K, but it's kind of narrow and other high alt planes can eat you for lunch up there, the Frank does not do it's best work up high.

Everything in AH has a 2 second WEP cooldown for 1 second on except for the Ki-84. It has something like a 2 seconds on for 1 second cooldown.

This actually makes the Ki-84's WEP very powerful for extended fights. That P-51 or Spit will run it's WEP out and that's that, but the '84 keeps recharging it so it almost always has something to get extra power with.

FM-2 (can outturn virtually anything, including zekes)
P-40E (won't compress, turns well with flaps)
P-51B (folks underestimate the 4 .50cals)
Spitfire Mk. I (folks really underestimate the 8 .303's)
Spitfire Mk. V (not much ammo or fuel, but turns well)
Spitfire Mk. IX (good blend of ammo, fuel, and turning)
Hurricane Mk. I (will outturn anything, no joke, also, same guns as spit1)
Hurricane Mk. IIC (tight turner, barely any ammo, but 4x 20mm's works)
P-38J (turns well with flaps, watch out for compression)
P-47D-11 (tons of ammo, turns well with flaps, dives like no other)
P-47D-25 (same, just more fuel)
Bf-109F-4 (turns good, moderate ammo)
Bf-109G-2 (very good in the vertical)
Bf-109G-6 (heavy armament, good for bomber-hunting)
Bf-109G-14 (has the spud-gun option, fast)
F-4U-1 (turns well with flaps, gear can extend at 350mph or so)
F-4U-1D (fast, turns well with flap control, can go in heavy)
Yak-9T (37mm cannon makes short work of bombers, turns on a dime)
Yak-9U (must keep ammo conservation at the top, turns very well)
SBD-5 (with the flaps full out, can outturn anything save hurrimk1)

I think that about covers it....all my opinions, of course.

I disagree about the FM-2 out-turning the Zeke. Any fight under 200mph that Zero will be inside him and watching his BB's bounce harmlessly off him.

Not to say the FM-2 isn't a good bird. She's fun to take against Spixteen dweebs...

Tempest comes from Typhoon, - sort of, but it's another aircraft. The wing is completely different, as well as several other modifications.
BTW, The Spit XIV is little mentioned, - 448 mph at 26K, and 5000 fpm climb from SL to 9K, which is matched by nothing with a prop

Yeah man, try flying some of the early models... I LOVE the Hurricane Mk1 and Spit Mk1... they're slow, but they turn on a dime.

Unlike late models-- you can't really lob cannon rounds in front of an ememy and hope they hit a wing or elevator, you have to be patient for a good shot and really hammer down with all eight .303's to do damage.

The old birds are really rewarding to fly, and it feels 10x better scoring kills in them IMO

110G (great bomber killer, a lot of ammo if ur one of those spray and pray ppl, good bombload, speed is ok, turning is ehhh ok, use it to HO those stupid spits, cuz u'll never outturn them, plus it got good range.)
