why so krusty?

the rocket and bomb lead computing shows where they will go when not "fixed" on a specific target? (I am talking about in a fighter without a true bomb sight)

it should be able to tell you where the bullets will go.
I don't know what to put here yet.

Rockets and bombs have the second point: the ground.

Gun rounds have a lifespan, and will expire after 1.2, 1.5 whatever that lifespan is. Otherwise, you'd only see the green X on the ground, like the other LCGS. That's where all bullets in real life end up!

So, basically, you can't compute it in a 3D reference... It has to be in relation to something, meaning on a target plane or on the ground. Otherwise the green Xs are just floating in space at an arbitrary point in front of you, rather than in relation to where the rounds actually need to go.

I don't think I'm describing it very well, but I don't know how to word it.

JB73: The other point with the bomb sight is the ground.

Krusty is mostly correct, you need to have a distance or time of flight to display where they will be. The targeting option gives you this distance.

What if you could change offline drones to targets pics + change their speed, radius etc....??

Could a lead-computing sight be set to reflect a distance equal to the convergence setting?

Or is there already such a thing offline?

Mipoikel: using the drones would be the perfect solution and I do hope that, when CT come out, the offline drones will be able to use the AI routines, so that we can really practice even offline.

Scherf: I don't think there's something like that in game.

Certainly not in-game, but I have a vague memory of being able to set up a lead-computing sight offline, back when I thought practice might improve my lamentable gunnery.

Yep, what I meant is lead computed sight shouldn't be "settable" (<-- does this word exist? :p), IIRC, only the .target command lets you specify a distance.

Ah, gotcha.

What is the command for engaging the lead-computing sight offline, anyway?

I am officially too bloody lazy to RTFM.

:lol

Ok, for this time I'll do it for you! ;) On clipboard, click Options > Arena Setup > Environment > Arena settings; search the FlightModelFlags voice, open it, check the "Lead Computed Gunsight" box, then hit save and close everything.

Voilą!
