perhaps a 3 arena system that places you according to rank? for instance arena A is ranks 1 thru 100 arena B 101 thru 200 etc.

although i dont know what you would accomplish with this.  if you wanna exclude people just go open a H2H game and boot everyone but the people you want in.

Hmm...how would you be able to fly with all your squaddies then?  I'm sure not everyone in the squad has the same rank.

And yes, I would definitely like to see the larger maps back.  The Uterus map and the Islands map are just starting to frustrate me.

Um, since a number of those "elite" players got those scores by milk-runs in the underpopulated and generally unpopular EW and MW arenas, why would they come to an arena were dey could git kilt?

BACK TO TOPIC.

Just take one of the current LW arena, bump up the CAP to a high number (like EW and MW seem to always have maybe), and re-enter medium and large maps into the rotation for that arena.  I'm willing to bet that such an arena will gather the most online players all the time.

Another idea to overcome the over-crowding would be to open another LW arena but call it EW (Pink).  No one would go there except the few who knew what it really was.

Seriously, it's time for the return of the big maps.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

Weekends seem to need large maps now, gets pretty crowded at times.

As for the rank/score gives you access to an 'elite' arena - LOL, rank/score means absolutely diddly poop.

New maps, of any size, would be nice.  The current rotation is really getting monotonous.

When you pack that many into such small maps balanced front lines would be 100 vs 100.  We now usually have only 3-4 bases along the front lines so, conservatively and if balanced, each fight should be 25 vs 25.  Now, go fly into a 25 vs 25 and see if you can use your skills.  Probably for a few minutes.  Even if you're the best in the game at SA and ACM some lucky soul is going to get a shot on you.  If you're lucky you can get out and land once in a while.

Some will say... others have good scores... I can only surmise that they don't fly on weekends, they cherry-pick, they vulch or they remain in the safety of their hoards.

[EDIT]  There used to sometimes be only 400-500 in the big maps when there was only 1 MA.

Aww BS. Those big piles of furbals are much more fun for me that a handful of people jousting. It's a ton of fun to have to keep lookiong all around, even as you are lining up to shoot a bad guy, in order to stay alive.  It's that much more challenging when you must rely on your SA as much as ACM to get a kill.  I died plenty this weekend but I had a blast, even got a couple of kills.

The tanktown islands map is my bane.  Tank town ends up being 'spawncamp town'.  People spawncamp all day to get 40 kills so they can get a "omg wtg!!!1eleven" on 200.  The best GV fights I've had, where nowhere near tanktown.

You don't get any good fights on that map until someone inevitably takes all of the tanktown bases.

I want bigger maps, too.  One where I don't have to fly around an 20k mountain.  That would be really nice.  I seen LW Blue was 95 over full...95 Bigger maps and more people allowed in.  Please.:D

Well, you know what they say, it's impossible to please everyone.  I wish the terrain editor was more user friendly, I'd definitely dig into it if it was...  All those old school DM's out there I'm sure would too.

Tank town is good arcade fun but it is a spawncamper haven.

What I love is to hear people whine about spawncamping when they themselves are just as guilty of the very same offense.  Then you hear the ridiculous stuff like: I only spawncamp because they do. or:  I only bomb in TT because they do.

I don't know what I find more amusing, the counterwhines or that these same people feel that committing a lame act is OK because someone else did it first.  Hmmm... I think the latter is funnier.

I miss the weekly map reset on Wednesdays. I always found myself looking forward to seeing what map would be next, because there were so many more maps in rotation. Now, when there is a pending reset, I just punch my ticket for TT because it's inevitably going to be it.

Donut would be real nice.
