Uber Jeep Pwns Tank Town!

I've killed a few tanks in a Jeep.  Once just to try it and a couple times to remove a spawn camper.   It's exploiting a bug, but getting killed 8-10 times in a row before you can even get your engine on is just as silly.

The new TT isn't as fun so far for me.  I enjoyed going from woodlot to woodlot trying to flank the enemy using the terrain to stay alive. I also play on a laptop that is just barely capable of supporting AH & the new terrain has dropped me to 7-10 FPS and it goes to 1-3 if it's busy or a B-17 flys over, so it's not a part of the game for me anymore until I build a new PC.

My simple idea to help the instant spawn deaths is to have tanks spawn with the engine on so you can at least take off and be a harder target to hit.  TT is gamey anyway and is for GV practice and quick results play so losing the realism of having to start your engine wouldn't take anything away for me.

~~ Sketch comes cruising in his Jeep with the Indiana Jones Theme playing ~~
Yeah Flayed, that is a good one...  I shot Mt. Dew all over my monitor when I was reading it. :rofl   Buggin people in Jeeps is one of the best things to do and it makes you smile and laugh about it...  But it is bad you can take out almost all the tires on an M8 with a 50cal, but slaughter it with 37mm  from an flak and they keep on rolling.

No offense taken, i wish I still had the video of it. It went kinda like this

Spawn-press e-dead  "you have been killed by "Player X" in a tiger
spawn-press e-dead   "you have been killed by "Player X" in a tiger
spawn-press e-dead   "you have been killed by "Player X" in a tiger

Cuss to myself

Check video replay.  Ahhh Behind and to the left

Jump in Jeep

drive...drive...drive

Roll.

50 cal

You have killed "Player X"

chuckle back to base.

Quit game

Lame it may be, but so is killing from behind before engine even starts;)

Had a similar problem. Kept upping a tank only to be killed every time by a spawn camping dweeb. Pointless. So I up a jeep and next thing I'm driving round town in a tension filled cruise trying to off other jeeps and M8's. Brilliiant fun!
The jeep is easily the most fun in those situations. Never managed to kill a tank. But enjoyed freaking them out and making them move out of cover by machine gunning them to distraction. Often got assists in those situations.

It seems to me that a jeep mission would be hilarious fun, driving around TT or some airfield shooting up the place and emulating those SAS raids in the desert.
The M8 is almost a much fun but a bigger target for Tiger community.

If a guy sits in one place for an hour (camping), shooting people at the point and moment when they enter play (spawn), it sounds like spawncamping to me.

Well it may sound like spawn camping to you but it might not by other peoples standards, as the spawn size increased because of the complaints that it was like shooting fish in a barrel, the larger more random spawns overlap each other now to the point where you can spawn in & start killing other people at their spawn when they up without even moving.

I remember when the spawn camping was not incidental but intentional. If you're 2K out then the guy is a good shot & more than likely on his own spawn or even further away. Believe me I've been camped before; who here that has gotten into a GV more than once or twice hasn't?

The problem is, when you spawn in & get popped, it's usually by someone who is still sitting on their own spawn too; especially in TT. There are a couple maps that the spawns overlap to the point that you spawn on top of each other, or even a couple hundred meters behind each other.

Like I said, I've been camped before & yes I got pissed off dying over & over again but it was my choice to keep going back. I could have upped buffs or JABO & killed them legitimately without breaking the rules & exploiting a glitch & so can you.  If HTC devises a way to eliminate camping I'm sure not going to complain about the loss of the camping opportunity. But I'm also not going to exploit a glitch either.

When there were holes in the terrain guys were hiding in those & popping people, that was more irritating than the campers. How about warping planes? If a guy decides he's tired of losing to you & can warp at will (I know they say you can't do that, others think you can - pretend for this instance you can)....is it ok for him to do it? No. Not in my opinion it's not.

Like I said no offense to anyone, it's just my opinion that it's a no brainer.;)

Well...think of it as the jeep pulling up, the driver hopping out and pitching a gernade into the tank through the hatch or vision slit :)

Hey, you let a jeep get that close, didn't ya?
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

With all this talk of exploiting the (drive into the tank and kill him) thing I am proud to say I have never used nore ever will use that tactic..  I simply use the (I put the most ammo into the NME ther for I get the kill tactic)...   Simply disable the GV in TT and usually in the disableing of it you will have put enough ammo/done enough damage to it to get the kill when he does die. :)  Though I do feel a lil bad for the guy that sees an easy kill and get's an assist lol.

Or he's disabled and just ditches, which is most likely what happened.

:lol  good one.

I've never been killed by a jeep in that manner. I've had them try but they usually eat pintle; they don't see your turret moving & they think they have you & "pa-ding-ding-ding"

Well after losing 6 kills to an M8 on the way back to base, and then re uping and getting basted by a guy so far out he must of been in a new time zone, I let him know I knew where he was.  How you may ask...JU-87 and 1800kg bomb. I think that was legit.

Ya know, you can man the jeep's gun and still steer with your rudder inputs.  Lets you shoot on the move.  I just haven't figured out the slowing down/stopping part yet.

Just a thought.

I don't belive there is any way to slow down or stop from the gunners position...  I was thinking of getting one of my squad to gun for me so I would only have to worry about staying out of the way of the tank guns :)  Though I would miss the part where I get to shoot out the treads.
