I cannot believe that our media is trying to profit fron the VT killings....why why why...did our media put those horad films on, of that screwball Idiot that killed all  those people.....why????
I'll tell you why....because of there greed.....they wanted to be the first to cover this.....for one reason....to profit off of these killings........our media should be a shame for what they did...they let this foul ball win....they did everything that he wanted them to do.......
We now are going to have a bigger problem....copy cats...now that they know they are going to be famous for killing people they too will try to top the VT killings knowing that our media will put there faces on TV all over the world!!
Does the press ever report sucides....no....why???.....because they don't want copy cats.....do the TV stations report when there is a bomb threats at a TV station...NO....WHY??....Because they dont want copycats to do it over and over again.....so   why why why would the press put these films of this guys all over the airwaves???? what a shame what a f@@ken shame.
The press in America does not tell the real story on anything...anyone that believes anything the press releases need there head examined The press only reports what is going to make them more money not the true facts!!!!

Fox News has adopted a hard hitting approach.  For example, they have an insightful, pull no punches article suggesting that the shooter was possessed by satan:

As soon as I heard him saw something among the lines of "I hope to inspire my future brother and sisters who have been kept down", and when he idolized te columbine killers "martyrdom", I thought to myself, WTF is the news doing showing this.  Like someone said in a previous thread.  Stop giving this sick nut job any post martyrdom celeb.  That is obviously what he wanted by sending the tape out inbetween shootings, so why should we grant him his wish?

Stop this crap, before we see another shooting.  By the way.  Tomorrow is the Anniversery of Columbine.

WOW....Watching MSNBC right now and they just made a statement saying they will give the video no more than 10% of airtime thus fourth....2.5 hours a day is still too much.

If you play it, people will watch it.

That generates advertising revenue.

If they didn't, it would just be on the internet for everybody to see anyways.

If you don't like it, just change the channel. Not a difficult concept I would think.

Personally I would like to see the entire video & read the papers once through. I would like to know what got in that fools mind to make him snap like that. I don't feel it's glorifying him, but then again I have a strong stomach. I'm sure the victims families aren't going to be sitting in front of the news re-living it over & over. If they DO then they are going to get what they get.

I'm more concerned that South Korea seems to feel the need to interject how they hope his race won't play a part in reactions, send an ambassador to apologize & meet with the concerned parties yadda-yadda-yadda. His race never really came to my mind other than to explain why that one picture showed the oriental guy in custody; I don't know about you folks or what thoughts went through your minds. It wouldn't matter to me what nationality he was unless he was here illegally.

It also concerns me that the backlash is always an over reaction to one extreme or the other. I just saw where an 18 year old was expelled because he was going through a year book pointing out people he liked & didn't like! Someone got "scared" & out he went. Ridiculous. Here we are discussing whether the news channels should show ALL the news, or just the parts the victims families & sensitive types can handle. Again, ridiculous.

Just my .02 I'm sure plenty disagree & that's your right.

+1!

The media are creating the next batch of mass killers with all the focus on the hugahunk instead of focussing on the lives lost and the survivors.
DEFINITION OF A VETERAN
A Veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."

Dude. You were watching it. If no one watches it they won't air it. You can't complain about the crap on TV if you're the one supporting it.
