Author Topic: problem with logging in the server (Read 419 times)

hi,i enter the game,press on "online" and type in the password and username,wait a few seconds and then a messege pop up "server timed out" or something like that.
i did approve AH in firewall and tried without firewall same problem...man what should i do?

You obviously can get to the WEB page, so the chances of it being an Internet related problem are eliminated.

It pretty much points at something on your computer blocking the game's access to login.

If you are uing the latest firewall software in McAfee or Norton, they both have problems disabling themselves. This could also be an anti-virus problem as well.

i use windows firewall.
i completely deleted my nod32 antivirus and disabled the firewall and i still get the same problem.
cant play online at all

I am assuming the failure is during login and not when you select the arena.

Please give me the exact error message you are getting.

correct,the login and not arena screen.
first it says "host timed out,do you wish to try the alt route?"
i press yes and seconds later i get "host time out"
and thats it.
really annoying

Does the first error come up immedaitely after you press the "Ok" button to login or does it acutally take a while for it to show?

An immediate failure indicates there is something blocking the game from accessing the port to validate the account. If there is a long time between the pressing "Ok" and getting the error message, then something else is happening. Possibly the port being blocked or trapped byu the ISP.

Did you recently do a restore point rollback? I am assuming this is Windows XP.

yes it takes time,
yes i did restore last night and it is windows xp

Did the problem start after the restore point, or before? The reason I ask is doing restore points have been known to really make a mess of applications.

You might need to re-install Aces High II.

Good. Just keep in mind, restore points normally will mess up most DirectX games. It has to do with the Windows registry.

Mahybe there is an actual Internet related issue. Have you tried running a PingPlot to http://www.hitechcreations.com? See if there is some packet loos.

Although I should think you would have problems getting to the WEB page as well.
