I know ZIP about Jeeps & only started learning about Toyotas when I bought a used 4Runner in January. I see a lot of the Yotatech people from Cali wheeling with Jeeps & they seem like a really great bunch; no hating going on.

Back when I was a kid the only locker I ever heard of was a detroit locker & it was getting down the 1/4 mile! lol

Both my Dodge trucks have sure grip (the Chrysler posi) full floating rear ends & I must say open diffs suck & imo LSD's aren't any better. My power ram has a locked front too, the other is just 2-wd but does just about as well as the open diff 4x4's I've had. My 4Runner is an open diff but I'm putting in a locker as my first mod.:aok

I have only seen Haters on forums, so far everyone I have talked to on a trail has been nice.

I had a budy who put a detroit locker in his bronco, lol it would chirp the tires going around a corner under power.

Lockers are a great, you can make it over stuff so much easier.

If they'd ever put that diesel that they put in the Liberty in the Wrangler I'd buy one tomorrow, and your older Rubicon with the 4.0 straight six will last twice as long as his new Rubicon with the V6. I worked for Chrysler group for almost 4 years before re-joining the military, that straight six is bullet proof and regularly saw Jeeps with high 200k to low 300k miles on them.

It's a sad commentary but very true. I only mention them because they are very active, they are in your area & they go on regular trail rides. They follow the "tread lightly" mantra & do clean up rides now & then. They seem like responsible stand up folks.

You can't have too many people on a trail ride regardless of what they're wheeling i.m.o. :aok

I do love the old straight six.  The TJ series jeeps remind me of 60s cars in how basic they are. I love when idling along in trafic I can hear all the lifters.  You won't hear the little buzz ticking noise on a modern motor.

Still, I do really like the new JKs, Jeep has to get some credit for keeping it a solid axle front.

Oh I agree, especialy if they are willing to help convince the BLM and park services that we are not a bunch of Yahoos, that destroy everything like the green wackos claim.
