Just curious if anyone here is running AH on any kind of Apple computer with an Intel chip & Windows installed.

If so, what system do you have? And, how is the performance?

My squad mate Ladle is running on a mac mini with an intel chip dual boot to Windows XP and Mac OS X. Not sure what the vid card is but he reckons he gets an average of about 40-60 FPS. Think he runs 1024x768. Not sure of texture size tho.

I believe Hap is running a 24" imac with the optional video card.

Mac mini uses a graphics chip, not a video card.

Enudro, sorry I didn't see your question. But Rolex and others got it right. Am flying again because I've beaucoup time on my hands after a work injury. Same set up. IMac 24 with the optional nVida card they built into it.

Checking compatibility with Windows 95 in the HTC folder on the HTC black spade by right clicking on it solved all the problems. It's the same fix the guys use with the dual core AMD's. Or part of it if I said it wrong.

Frame rate stays steady at 60 even during massive mission takeoff. It does not go above 60 though. I've thought of looking for a whatever to allow for FR to increase, but have decided against it.

Works well enough for me.

For anyone tempted to go Apple, I'd say do it. The expense is the downside. Get one with the fast chip and good card.

You can save a good deal of money money by buying memory from another source than Apple. Mac Owners Support Group has a nice deal with some vendor. I got mine with 2 gigs (didn't know about the deal via MOSG) and have a opening to add a 3rd but haven't done so.

I have it running on a MacBook Pro that's 1 year old. I run it using Windows XP with bootcamp. I only had to load the dual core patch and it worked straight out the shute.

I don't play on that machine but performance looks pretty good (if not better than my PC)

Yup. That's the part I over looked or didn't know to look into. Once you've selected the right compatibility, it's all clover.

Hap, no worries...you actually replied to a PM about this months ago. At the time, I was working on a Marketing project, and your input helped us add a little zing to the presentation (for the gamers in the audience).

asw tells me that someone here is running AH on Ubuntu (Linux). Now, THAT is verrrrrrrrrrrry interesting.

There are a few of us that have posted about getting AH running under Linux. On my part I had it running with PCLinux using Cedega. While performance was adequate it was slower than XP on the same machine, didn't like my preferred joystick and I never did get my usb headphones/mic to work. However I wasn't willing to commit more time and resources than I had already had to resolve all the issues either. FWIW it sounds like AH runs much better on a Mac running XP than it does under Linux.

Yea, apparently so. Sorry that your gaming performance in Linux wasn't adequate enough. I assume, though, that it'll improve as Linux gains a larger audience. Let's hope so, anyway.
