Questions on sounds
« on: April 19, 2007, 03:39:12 PM »
What are "weapon" and "tmusic", and what are the 2 radio beeps really named?

I see no settings (in game) for the tank guns, nor the radio beeps, but I see settings for weapon and tmusic. What's the deal with the sounds preferences?

I also have a question......

I would like to know which sounds handle the guns on the cv's so I can lower them. when i'm on the cv, either in tower or gunning, I have to use headphones so it does'nt drive the wife mad. :)

Radio beeps are VOX not game sound.  No game sound settings for beeps as far as I'm aware.

Weapons are how weapons sound.  CV guns are either M2 or primory....can't recall but to low and you won't hear your gun in a plane.

Tmusic....again no idea.

Sound files are click0.wav and click1.wav

They must be 8k freq and 16 bit only the first 1920 samples i.e. (0.24 secs) are used.

This is from last year, but there is no adjustment in the game sounds preferences, and despite creating 2 files meeting the criteria, they don't work.

Also, according to the prefs, there's a sound named weapons, but what weapons? There's already adjustments for primary and secondary guns, so I'm not seeing the point on this one. Add to the fact that since game sounds are no longer in wav format (unless custom), and you can't play the sounds to see what they are outside the game.

A complete list of sounds and what they are attached to would be nice.

duh, radio clicks weren't working because i had the names juxtaposed. The rest still has me stumped though.

Are you sure you're making the sound files correctly? I made my own click sounds a few months ago and they work fine, so AH definitely recognizes click0 and click1. It might just be an issue on your end.

Now, don't ask me how I created sounds that work in-game. I don't remember. I have zero experience with sound creation, so I guess I just opened one of the existing sounds with Audacity and figured out how it was configured, then went from there.

Heh, yeah, they work. I use only the squad radio beep, and I had a beep named click0 (tuned channel), and the static named click1 (range). Oops.
