He got .muted.

That is the FIRST thing in the rules.  Just copy and pasted it from the KOTH MOTD we use.

If the hosting CM says to keep it on range when you are in the tower so as to not distract the players still fighting, it would probablyl be a good idea to do just that.
Yes. Must tell him to listen and read all channels. There might be some beer involved tho.

Browsing this I recalled several years ago being one of the last two in a KoTH round, and the hot stick of the day was yapping on channel 2 with color commentary, and laying money on the other guy.  It pissed me off and broke my concentration on the fight.  It was not against the rules back then.

"Dead guys" in the tower shouldn't be doing anything that affects those still flying.  (eg. giving check 6's, ID'ing other players still up, giving damage or status reports, color commentary, play-by-play, cheerleading, PM harassing, ect.)  That kind of stuff is either in your ear or in your face.  Its not like being out on the playing field with all that stuff being just white noise from the stands.  Anyone not a CM or in competition has no business influencing those who are.

I heard him say how drunk he was and I cut him some slack because of that.

I was training another CM to run Sat. KOTH last night and during the setup I had told him that it is rare for me to .mute anybody during a King of the Hill.  It basically ruins the event for that player and I recall saying i've almost never done it.  (I can only think of a handfull i've .muted)

No hard feelings on my end, and I hope none on ya'lls.
