This was supposed to be the last remaining thing in the Federal Government that had gone untouched by corruption, cronyism, and scandal. This was supposed to be the one area where Bush and Democrats agreed. This was supposed to be the one overwhelming success story that showed that the Bushies knew how to do something…anything really. And now what do we find? That even this ostensibly successful program is riddled with corruption and cronyism!

And, to make matters even worse, we can’t even get a good reading from the Department of Justice as to how corrupt, mismanaged, and scandalous things really are because the Department of Justice itself has been compromised by Bush’s hiring and firing of prosecutors for political purposes!

As the old saw goes, Republicans insist that government is corrupt, unworthy of our trust, profligate, and incompetent. So we elect them to office and they set out to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Federal government is corrupt, unworthy of our trust, profligate, and incompetent.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties are corrupt. To many individuals that think they are above the law. We need a new party that actually has the peoples interest at heart and not their own.

For all of you getting your knickers bunched over this, do a little searching for how the CPA (Coalition Provisional Authority, the "caretakers" of Iraq prior to their elections) handled the funds for the rebuilding of Iraq. This is small change. But the CPA crooks will get away with it.

Geraldo standing in the rain working up a few tears while standing on a pile of rumpled text books just might make an issue of this.
Then we could spend a few billion to do an indepth investigation and conduct hearings on CNN......................unti l the elections were over. Then it would be a non-issue and never mentioned again.
