I didn't see United 93 when it was in theaters or released on DVD. I thought it was done too soon. It would be too painful and unpleasant to watch. But, now it's on HBO and I finally sat down to watch it. I have to say I was moved. It was done very, very well.

The film is docudramatic, but is done Jack Webb style...Just the facts. There's no narration, no editorial spin or message. Much of the dialog is the actual transcript of the events. Many of the roles in the film are played by the actual people speaking their own words on 9/11.

You can't help but come away with a sense of pride, patriotism and sorrow. I say this of very few films, but everyone should watch this movie. Show it to your children. Talk to them about the movie.

it was difficult to watch.  I didn't want to get wrapped up in a propaganda piece but I don't think this film was any of that.  It just attempted to show how humans  behave towards one another and in very difficult moments.

The only thing that made me wonder was the portrayal of the one European passenger and how he was almost violent in his belief that the terrorists should be appeased, even after finding out that other planes were being flown into building.  I had a hard time believing that.

I thought it was done with a very even hand.

Mac, I understand and felt the same way until it was over. It made me re-experience some of the feelings I had on 9/11 and I think that was important. Confusion, anxiety, disbelief, WTF is going on, anger, pride.

Lest we forget what it means to be an American.

I agree.  Just hurts a bit to relive the times.

I have all those emotions just thinking of 9/11.

Of the four aircraft hijacked that day, United 93 was the only one that didn't reach it's target. There were no survivors.

Watching it now, pretty good movie, dragged a bit in the middle.  What's with the F16 pilots says they could only "damage" the plane with 20mm?  Certainly you can bring down an airliner with 20mm.  I tried it in Lomac or something.

I saw Oliver Stone's World Trade Center in the weekend...I thought that was a good show, cracker start - although once the buildings collapse the pacing slows somewhat...

i think that may have been a potshot at the european union's(minus britain) pathetic and cowardly backing of the war on terror.
