Gotta love the new caliber of players in the MA....

Ya fight 262 v 262 for 15 minutes straight....Each pass going back and fourth for position....One jet clearly bugs out, while the other one flies off.  The one that bugs out comes in for a landing, and the other jet comes back to vultch....  For the circumstances of jet v jet fighting, thats a pretty pathetic way to ened it.

And the saddest part is, it wasn't a noob.  Thanks Herb!

unfortunately nothing I could do to avoid the vultch.  I ran out of fuel on final....The two jets were fighting that long, that my fuel went bye bye.  I don't really care that much, it's just more of an annoyance that you have a good fight with someone who people consider to be a good stick, and then they come and vultch you on landing.  I just think thats sorta corny....

but hey.  It's your world.  I'm just living in it =)

I had a guy do something similar not long ago. I had a P-38J, and was in enemy territory, at about 15-18K. I saw a Spit, a 16 I think, climbing to me. I actually let him get co-alt for a while and level for speed. When we merged, I went vertical and tried to take him up. He'd go up a little, then dive way trying to drag me down, probably hoping I'd lock up in a dive. I just went back up. This went on until I ran low of fuel 2 sectors from base. I had started with tanks and even held them, but let them go and ran the 50% internal. When I finally tired of him diving away, especially to a couple of friends, I climbed up and rtb'd. I waited till I got to base to descend, and spiraled down with about 3 -5 minutes of fuel left. As I came out of the spiral and burned enough speed to land, here comes the Spit for the vulch. I throttled up to WEP and tried to turn into him, but I was down to around 75 knots and at idle when I saw him. He went for a from quarter shot (looking for the HO) and I pinged him as he went by, and the AAA finished him. But wait, there's more. His buddies both showed up to try for the vulch, I shot one down, and one augered trying to HO me, so I landed three kills. Sad, but sort of funny, I guess. I had film, but I can't get it until I rescue my old hard drive.

Maybe you should have shot Herbie down.  That would have solved it right there.

I would criticise, but unless had told me you were outta fuel, i would have vulched your arse too.

I would have figured you just didnt want to lose your jet and was being cowardly, so would risk mine in the ack just to get yours :)

This is one of the things I don't like about the behavior of players in this game. Some people go to suicidal lengths to vultch people trying to land. I find this behavior both strange and unsportsmanlike.

It is well known that jets and rocket driven aircraft were most vulnerable during take off and landing. So historically... it happened!
