This is a gorgeous shot! I thought the P-39 was sexy, but daaa--aamn! Those razorbacks, that tight finger-four formation....big IS beautiful!!
I remember seeing an old interview with American fighter ace Bud Mahurin, and he said when the FGs showed up in England with their '47s, the Brits, accustomed to the graceful lines of their nimble Spitfires, took one look at the massive Thunderbolts and said "You boys better take your trucks and go home..."
