if it was hard to fix, they made it look easy and then some.
the terrain exceeded my expectations even. (admittedly i set them rather high)
tank town was awesome. but then, this is a flight sim so i'd like to see it go back to the sky for a bit now.
of course, i am not a fan of being thrown into the dark nether world few if any words on the subject like we were. especially since the last terrain was so abysmal...but if there is a such thing as redemption, this patch was as close to it as one gets.
it is a pleasure to say so.
that said, it might be easy to believe that it would have been just as good if there weren't people making their feelings known often and with great verve, but i am skeptical of that.
i have been anticipating some of the results that i saw yesterday for years now, a long time to hang on really, and i can only hope that this is the beginning of an even greater advance.
as it is now, the lighting is still holding it back. that and the water. things reflect daylight. the current terrain seems to absorb it. walking along the water this afternoon i paid attention to it...if that could be solved...even with a splash of it to allow the imagination to fill the void, it would be a great leap.
a well rounded game of this type would also encompass all sorts of environmental variables: seasons, weather conditions, cloud covers, multiple terrains and varying theaters of war in the main, with the correct environments to match...etc.
i would really like to see it go there. so i can feel what it might have been like to have been there.
so long as it does...i remain a fan.
