Yes it is possible. Got a "You have landed" message countless time when towering out at undefended enemy bases V fields.

I tried that yesterday LYNX as as usual I suspected to get a successful landing, but not this time. I was on concrete but for some reason it gave me a ditch. was not happy.

If you're closer to a friendly base than an enemy base -- and this includes out in the wilderness -- you will get a safe landing as long as nobody is around. I mean NOBODY. If there's so much as one person within x miles of you, it's a ditch. I think you might even be able to tower out safely at an enemy field, as long as there's nobody around.

Somebody did a lot of testing way back when Stalin's Fourth was run, because we were using GVs often in it.

If I remember correctly the base or city cant be blinking when landing a GV at a city. It will give a ditch every time. Unless that has changed.

Vehicles always used to be able to successfully land on any friendly concrete (base or town) even when damaged & under attack.

First off, nothing was "addressed"  just slightly discussed.  I'm not saying that you shouldn't get a ditch if said person or veh is not on pavement.

What has me and many others complaining is when you ARE on concrete or pavement and you still get a ditch???

It's like a roll of the dice weather or not you land successfully. This IMO is BS. If you take the time to make sure you have parked on pavement and it gives you a ditch, then we have a programming error or HT is not advising on how to properly land your veh on pavement.

my 2 cents

like others have already pointed out:

You cannot lose kills! Ditch or land, you still have them.

You are right kills are kills and you keep them but every now and then
we all need to have our EGO pumped up and nothing better than seeing
your name on the board in lights.

Also, getting a ditch message affects off your K/D rate, and some of us like our stats and dont want them skewed by glitches.  If I had not gotten the ditches I got while in town on concrete, my K/D rate in GV would still be well over 3.  Minor gripe.

The AArch AAngelz is its own country, we owe loyalty only unto ourselves and those we fly with at the moment.---AAolds AArch AAngelz XO.

I love to GV and do Jabo missions vs GVs, get used to it.  Being good at one helps in the other.

It doesn't.
K/D is Kills per Death. If you are killed or captured, it's a "death", disco counts as 1/2 death. A ditch does not effect your K/D.

A disco shouldn't even count. I got discoed 11 times this last tour and I have no control over it, why should I be penalized for it?

Because it's impossible to differ between a true and an intentional disco. People would protect their pretty K/D score by discoing deliberatly when about to get kille dby a opponent on their 6.
