Up until the late 80's-early 90's It was a joy to sit down to a race on Sunday's. Now, all I do is look at highlights when they come on.
NASCAR is about nothing else than the money now. You used to be able to identify with the different manufacturers' that ran, with drivers that had their roots in old southern racing...But no longer.
The days when drivers like Cale Yarborough, Bobby Allison, and Richard Petty are long gone. When it wasn't politically incorrect for a tobacco company to sponsor the series. When you saw a Ford, Chevy, Poniac, Olds or Buick running, you knew that the cars were different enough that Technology, craftsmanship and design played a factor. Today the damn thing looks as fake and scripted as the WWE.
