NASCAR = Ring around the rosey,
Hotdog wrapper, kleenex  on the track ....
pre determind winner in the magic slot , OK throw the Caution Flag

" Tony Stuart is right " , So much so that NASCAR fined him $10,000 for saying so ...

Stewert is just a big crybaby-    He has benefitted from many debris cautions in the past, but for whatever reason- he didnt cry about those...

I"ll be at the race in Sonoma(bout 10 miles from my house). Sonoma is one of Jeffs favorite tracks, and he actually grew up in my town. His parents still live here, and some other family members as well.

Heh, I still remember the days when Earnhardt was hated even more than Gordon is now.  Every race you'd see people with "ANYONE BUT EARNHARDT" signs.  I'll never understand why so many people hate Gordon when he's been so successfull.  Yeah, NASCAR is a bit WWF and relies on "billboards" to finance their teams but it still beats a "great" F1 race with 67 laps and maybe 4 passes for the lead.

There's a LOT wrong with NASCAR but much more that is right.  The empasis on the driver rather than technology for one.  And thank god they don't use "stock" cars anymore.  Who wants to see FWD 4 bangers going 120 mph at Daytona and Talladega.

IROC ran stock cars and they were not FWD 4 bangers going 120 mph.

What does IROC have to do with NASCAR?

And they did run cars similar to what's in NASCAR, i.e. tubular chassis and sheet metal.  Pontiac hasn't built a Firebird since '02 and yet IROC raced Trans Ams until '06.

take them off the showroom floor and race them, i want to see real chevys race real fords and real pontiacs and real Chrysler's and toyotas.

instead of purpose built race cars and "debris" yellow flags to keep the pack together for the close finish.

Stewart is probably the best driver in NASCAR or just about any other circle track  racing. Further, real racers have no better friend than Tony Stewart, the guy does more for small time racers and small time racing than anyone with the possible exception of Kenny Schrader, who is one of the most under rated drivers anywhere.
