turn radius/turn rate

A while back a gentle fellow compiled a list for all planes with their respective turn radius. Anyone still got the link?

It would seem i'm too dense to find it :o

If you do a search you will find. I have a copy of the data from that post which i will paste in with credit to Kweassa.

This data was collected in December 05 - so they may not be 100% accurate to todays AH2 FM, but im sure they are pretty much on the money tho as there has been no major FM changes since.

Keep in mind that these numbers were generated with stall limiter ON. This means that a skilled pilot can generate a smaller turning radius, in some cases, significantly smaller.

Also, the flight model has changed with the reworking of the drag model. So, one can't vouch for these figures still being accurate for the current release. Some aircraft were unaffected, others suffered greatly and some others benefited from the change.

Keep in mind turn rates and radii are affected by several factors including weight (fuel and weapons loadout) as well as flap use and the ability of the engine to generate power or not at a given altitude, energy retention.

You could take two Spit 9s that are otherwise "similar aircraft" and have different turn capabilities between them if one is full of fuel and the other is down to 1/4 tank. The heavier one won't turn as well.

That said any data you might get on them would only be good for a certain configuration and altitude. That data would certainly give you a ballpark idea of how well a plane turns versus another but just keep in mind its a guestimate given all the factors involved.
