The title brings to mind the Supermarine Spitfire. I just need tips on energy management and concepts. So here's an intro on what i know about the plane and the concepts of dogfighting.
Yea, i'm not only using my cousin's email address but I'm also the biggest Spitfire fan I know out there xD
The aircraft is not my favorite because of all stuff i hear in the game, no.
This plane is my favorite since I ever figured out about the plane in some books in grade school. As my name suggests, it is a dweeby plane but I really like to fly it (and the F4U, P-38 and FM2). It tops my list and i find it to be the best overall design as an interceptor of WWII. I choose the F4U Corsair as the best overall fighter plane though. At any rate, the good, ol' design of the original Supermarine Type 361 (spitfire IX) has got to be fun. The LF IX (merlin 66-powered, which we don't have in the game) can outclimb, and (given equal, uber pilots) outturn the La-7 and F4U-4 at low/medium speed which is very useful, though it won't dive like them. The later Type 361 (Spitfire XVI) in the game is kinda ugly and it doesn't look much like a Spit so i don't really like that. The spitfire VIII's extra wing tanks and extra empty weight of 182 lbs. makes it feel kinda heavy so i don't fly that either. Spitfire XIV? out of the question.
I got wingloading down, power loading, all the different flap types (gotta be the only thing i dont like about the spitty) and the factors that determine most performance figures. I know how to do a rolling/vertical scissors and a regular scissors, split-s, high/low yoyo etc. Im needing to know exactly what Angle of Attack (AoA) is and the factors that determine climb rates (not zoom climb). I need to train my accuracy and head on evasion since i hate head to heads and getting killed by one.
Well, that's my rant, thanks for listening, and any help would be great. Thanks!
