if i'm doing a bare metal skin, how do i get the shiny effect using Paint shop pro 7, i just cant seem to get it right by myself?

Heya Hul,

I'm a Photoshop user so not exactly the same as yours. However, in Photoshop we have a filter called Render with a submenu for Lighting Effects. Maybe you have something similar.

You also have the ability of different settings in the Materials List file. Manipulating this file can take your BM from a dull/saturated look to a bright shiney look. By no means am I an expert on the materials file. Both Krusty and Kev have done some wonderful extremes manipulating that file though. Spitfires come to mind

Gradients... From solid to transparent, from center outwards (to transparent) and all other types.

But, in a word, gradients.

Krusty, what is the material file? I need to change all my Bf 109 skins as "not shining", I mean dim colors. And how you use the Material buttons in the Skin Viewer?

I never liked thoe buttons.

I used this on my 109Es

0.400,0.400,0.400,Ambient
0.600,0.600,0.600,Diffuse
0.000,0.000,0.000,Emissive
0.200,0.200,0.200,Specular
20.000,Power

But for some reason I ended up using this on my 109Fs

0.259,0.259,0.259,Ambient
0.659,0.659,0.659,Diffuse
0.000,0.000,0.000,Emissive
0.408,0.408,0.408,Specular
33.420,Power

Try either one out. I'd suggest starting with the first one.

Uhum, must I make a text file and put it to the skins/109G2 folder? So that I can check it offline?

Shinyness and dullness is controlled by a materials file.

Download any of the default Spits to get a dull materials file, the default Pony D will get you a shiny materials file.

Just place the appropriate one into your new skin folder.
