Fellaz
Was lookin through some books and noticed this one "Messerschmitt bf109 at war" by Armand van ishoven. Was just wondering if this book was any good.I am lookin for a book about the development of the 109.This one sounds like it covers it from beginning to end.I figured you guys may know if this title is any good or can suggest a better one.

Dunno about books... but there is a 109 website that goes into extensive detail about the history and development of the 109. I'm looking for the site now but I cant find it.

I personally would rather have a book. Actually having someting physical to read and look through without having to use my computer.

I prefer books as well.I can just sit back relax and read away.Reading on the computer for a long time tends to hurt my eyes.

Books have more credibility. They have the publisher's reputation backign them up. Even some of the "more credible" web sources on the 109 are still suspect in some areas.

Pipz, I have "Messerschmitt BF-109 F,G,&K" by Jochen Prien & Peter Rodeike

It is an excellent book and their knowledge on the subject is paramount to none.
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

There are/were a series if "At War" books.

They are mainly photo books.  All are good.  I have the 109 at war.  It's not a definitive history, but a good source of photos and some history.

I have:

Mustang at War
Spitfire at War I & II
Mosquito at War
Typhoon and Tempest at War
Thunderbolt at War

You name the WW2 bird and there is probably an "at War" for it.

BTW Pipz, I did come across an actual wartime photo of your squadron's Firefly :)

Don't misunderstand me Pipz.  It's a good book to have.  They're getting a bit harder to find too.
