They both suck.  Both threw out any illusion of being a professional journalist.

From all reports, both are arrogant and hard to get along with.  Both feel serving their agenda overrides any temptation to just report the news in an objective manner.

I suspect Dan is the bigger bellybutton of the two.
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I miss Bob Schieffer.

They still have news on TV?  I thought everyone used the internet now.

I watch the local news and thats about it.  I havent watched a network news progam since Harry Reasoner, Howard K. Smith, Frank Reynolds, Walter, John Chancellor, and when I was very young I remember Huntley and Brinkley and then later just Brinkley

i watch TV news, or rather discovery channel news, for the sole purpose of laughing at pointless robots that were made obsolete 8 thousand years ago with the invention of the wheel.

Cronkite is still by far #1.
But since the early 90's I fell in love with Peter Jennings.  It was like an addiction for me to watch the World News on ABC.  Now, all the channels have no anchors that I enjoy.  Unless you count Steven Colbert.

cronkite? yeah right, he's the one that said the viet cong won the tet offensive when the viet cong were almost wiped out during that ill-advised attack.

you probably think the "daily show" is a real news program.

Rather shoved Cronkite right off the air.  Not even allowing his "guest pieces" or anything.  Search around...its pretty interesting how Dan made CBS all about himself for as long as he could.

I've only seen Couric's program a handful of times.  As far as CBS goes, they are woefully behind the times compared to ABC and NBC.

Frankly, between the big "three", I'd rather watch Tom Brokaw.  But, he's gone now.

I can't stand the national evening news.  I can only take so many car and drug commercials so densely packed.

The closest thing to the news that I watch on TV are the Daily Show and the the Colbert Report.
