i'm new to this game, and i love it, though trying to get my friends didnt, and they blame it on usiblity issues, nearly had me quiting a couple of times as well.

like the mouse not working and no tuetoral, and the inability to take off from the word go.

it toke me a whole hour to work out how the voice system worked. (i'm not a noob, i use vent and TS all the time), my opion of the whole (chat) channel system, is fairly low, though the range voice is nice.

few other miner details, long travel times, so would be nice to be able to play it in windowed mode.

be nice if creating an account would automaticly sign you up for the forums.

I cant make out what your trying to say. Your mouse only "works" if you have a joystick which I dont think you have. If not right click and it will "work". Voice is very simple. Pulg in your mic. and test it in your "volume conrtol" on your desktop. If it works there it will work in the game. VOX (voice) works for people in the same "room" that is when your in the tower only people in the tower will hear you. If your in the hanger only people in the hanger will hear you. If your flying only people within 6k of you will hear you. Also if your in a squad and squadies are on use T and they will hear you. Long travel times? It only takes about 5mins to get to an enemy base. You should fly AH with everything else closed if not you can warp.

Unless you are trolling, you can go to http://www.hitechcreations.com/   -->"downloads" -->"getting started" and read all the help you need to get started.

Then you can read more from -->"support"  -->"help" link.

Then to get even deeper into the game: http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/

But, but, but, that means they'll have to READ!!!!!!!! They want instant gratification!!!!!!!! Reading is such a bore and they have to do that enough in school, let alone have to do it in their free time.

I agree with you though. READ the help files!!!!!!!

take-off from the word go? hmm... doesnt that take all the fun out of a simulator? it kinda defeats the whole purpose..

And what did you envision? Other than GV's and water craft that can spawn in from a selected spawn point away from field, you have to fly FROM somewhere to GET somewhere.

Even in ground vehicles, it takes time to DRIVE somewhere. Sounds like you just need patience is all.

like the mouse not working and no tuetoral,

I think what he's getting at is that new player instructions are lacking, although better than when I started... but to me that's half the fun, trying to figure it out!
As far as mouse not working?   I don't know what he's talking about, unless of course he means not easily being able to play with the mouse.

and the inability to take off from the word go.

"inability to take off from the get go" maybe?  This game is as much simulator as it is action, therefore it is necessary to actually take off and land.  Personally I think the auto take off feature may be a tad much.. but I'm not going to complain because I almost always use it!  Having aircraft spawns IMO would be WAY too gamey...

He wants a setup wizard!  HAHAHA  funny.   I think wizards will become the end of civilization as we know it.

Yeah that's a bit of a pain.  Personally I think every new stick should at least be directed automatically to these forums... but still.. it's not rocket surgery.  Besides, I'm sure the website and the game are hosted on entirely different servers...  would probably be more work than it's worth to do that.

I don't think bishop was around back in the DOS days.. or even pre-windows98...

Did you happen to take notice to the "Web Page Help" selection on the main clipboard menu?

H key will bring back your mouse pointer function if you are using it as a controller.  Note that a joystick is listed in the game requirments.

The trainers website with some step by step setup tutorials is listed in the training arena message, and is also in the site menu at http://www.flyaceshigh.com

AHII has a much steeper learning curve than many games.  It's not a simple twitch shooter.  No spawning right into combat.

To do well with it does require reading much of the material provided in this website, the Trainers Website, possibly some of the fan sites, and best if a little practice is done offline or in the training arena.
The game probably would benefit from a tutorial, but then if a player won't take time to read all the other prepared material, what chance of them sitting through a tutorial?

Press H is your mouse goes out.  Most find joystick works better than mouse for flight controls, but some swear by the mouse.

The radio has more to it than most MMOGs do.  2 VOX channels, 4 Text Channels, with options for many 'private' channels for squad mates for text or VOX, all with very little overhead.  I find it's one of the better chat solutions out there that comes stock in the game code.

Windowed mode would probably be nice option.  Those squaddies making use of TS or other chat options would benefit..... plus easier to play at work with other screens ready to be brought up on short notice.
