Saw the B-17 flying today.  Went right over campus.

How much does it cost to ride in it?  Seriously considering that this weekend....

Say ROC, is this an actual air show or is this only the Collings air craft?

Collings air craft at the Coast Guard hanger, but there is a new museum on the base as well with some great planes.

No airshow though, that I'm aware of.

I pasted this from an e-mail our Ops Group Commander sent out.  I am probably going to be there Wed, around lunch time.

Lincoln is about 20 min North of Roseville on 65.

The Collings Foundation will fly their B-17, B-24 and B-25 to the Lincoln Regional Airport, and will have them open for you to tour and even ride in if you desire.  These aircraft are probably the best and most historically accurate restored WWII bombers in the world.  And they fly!  And now, you can see them and touch them.

When:
Tuesday May 22nd      1400hrs - 1700hrs
Wednesday May 23rd     0900hrs – 1700hrs
Thursday May 24th      0900hrs – 1200hrs

Where:
Lincoln regional Airport (Karl harder field) on the General Aviation Ramp

Cost:
Walk through Tours
$10 for adults, $5 for children 12 years and under

30 minute flight experiences:
$425 per person on the B-17 and B-24 ,    $325/$400 per person on the B-25
Every time a Nit vulches,  an angel get it's wings.

Wow, you can actually get a flight in one of these old planes. Amazing. I'm nearby, in Davis. The Aerospace museum at McClellan also has a Da Vinci exhibit featuring some interesting models, like the Air Screw. I've been meaning to check out the exhibit and the museum. With the bonus of the Collings Foundation aircraft on hand, I have no excuse for not going. Here are a few useful links.

I went today and walked through all 3 bombers, even met a B-24 flight engineer who had some interesting pics he took while he was flying.

I never realized how cramped those planes were inside.

Are you allowed to take pictures and video inside?
