Harry gets pulled from the Iraq roster

I can't say that I blame the royals for wussing out.  However, I do think they (royals) should be excluded from military service if they are going to opt out of deployments just because they are dangerous adventures and might get killed.   What would Lord Nelson think?.........

we already know what nelson would say. "As the two fleets moved towards engagement, Nelson ran up a thirty-one flag signal to the rest of the fleet, spelling out the famous phrase "England expects that every man will do his duty".

He should never have been put on the roster in the first place, and its prolly more of an act of common sense than "wussing out".

In regular defencive war it would have been fine to let him serve.

Of course self-preservation rules the day, but to be the "King who was pulled from the duty roster because of fear" is quite another....I guess when you consider the royal family today being merely figureheads then it really is inconsequential.  Poor kid, he wants to go serve with his brothers and sisters in harms way.  He knows the score and he wants to go.  Brave young man.

Yup.

By beeing brave he is/was putting his entire group of fellow soldiers in even more risk. I bet his group is relived he is not going. :)

It's too bad the media advertised him going in the first place.....  If know one knew he was going, he would have been just another face in the crowd.

What did the media think was going to happen the minute they advertised he was going?

Probably.  Who knows, maybe this is just a cover to get him in there without notice.  Even just a short stay would cover the Kings prerequisite for bravery :lol

in days of old, kings led their troops in battle, now they just do public appearances.

This was followed by a second signal

"Engage more closely" and was left flying for the rest of the battle.

Never mind the manouvers....Straight at 'em!!!!

In days of old, kings also ruled the lands, now they don't.
