Need your help - no video signal - problem
« on: May 17, 2007, 04:29:51 AM »
Hi

Lately my computer shows this - no video signal - message when i try to start up. It doesn't happen every time. After a reset / reboot it works again.

Any idea what it could be or where i have to look to fix this problem?

you getting any beeps? as in 1 long beep and then 2 short beeps?  or 1 long / 3 short?

possibly need trying to reseat your video card perhaps, if you getting beeps, or video going bad worse case.......( regarding the beep codes above )

if you getting 2 quick short beeps then beep, beep, beep  you prob got a MB going south.......

just got an RMA for an ASUS A8N - E MB yesterday for the latter beep code ( 2 quick then 3 regular beeps )

You may want to try reseating your video card before looking for something else.

Here's a list of possible causes.  You'll have to check each one out to verify the problem.

1) VGA cable, either loose, gone bad, or pins bent
2) Monitor, could be on its way out
3) Video card, new drivers are not going to do anything.  Try reseating it or try it in another computer.
4) Others that I can't think of ATM.

I might think that the monitor isn't powering up fast enough, or has a problem waking up from sleep mode.

The other suggestions already given are a good place to look, also.
