I remember reading the book then seeing the movie, the typical "book was better than movie" situation.

Oh heck.  He was doing so well with a semi-professional acting career with "Coptown" and "Get Carter".  What's with the return to "Rocky" and "Rambo" lately?

Well, it also gave him an excuse to use the latest designer steroid muscle enhancers out there on the market too. ;)
