If you really love the lady, you'll save up and buy her a Glock.  They're cheap, reliable, and effective, if not very fine.  Works a thousand times better than Mace or a Taser.  If any girl has qualms about using a weapon, remind her that even if she would not protect herself, it's the right thing to do to protect her attacker's future victims.  Forty five is a good round for taking down animals (two legged), but it's more important to get a caliber small enough that the person can aim well with.

Those who would take away the people's firearms are no better than the rapists and murderers whom the gun-control advocates protect.  I am strongly reminded of this every time I hear the terms "woman" and "self-defense" in the same context.  Woe to the wicked.

I'm all-for self defense of women, but loading a gun onto a 14 or 15 year old? They obviously wouldn't bring it to school with them (we hope) and probably wouldn't come home to get it. It'd end up being too big of a burden for them, I'd think. Can teens even get concealed weapon licenses?

That or when you dumped them, you'd die.

Why not?  Children used guns responsibly a hundred years ago, and long before that as well.  My own father shot from a young age, and didn't have a babysitter while he was shooting, either.  The problem is, of course, that children are improperly raised in this age of television and therefore people are understandably more leery of giving guns to children.

And that's why I simply don't get involved in the first place.  It's not my business to tell you how to live (aside from where it encroaches upon my own life, which this doesn't), but I must say I think that relationships at your age are bound to fail.

If everyone in this day and age were as cool headed and mature as some teens out there, giving guns to teens would be a great idea. It all depends on the person. I'd carry a gun with me if I could. I'd never whack out and shoot anybody. However there's the issue of if anybody will trust my word behind that statement. There are, though, an abundance of teens out there that are either depressed out of their minds, burnt dry on drugs, or too hyped up on medication their parents think they need to be trusted with a firearm.

But this still comes back to the other question; can a teen even get a concealed firearms license?

No, they can't.  My post was a fruitless rant caused by my resentment towards a government which greatly oversteps its bounds and towards parents who sadly neglect their role, thereby indirectly assisting that grasping government.

lol. Sadly, I could get the Glock cheaper than the Knife, but neither my parents, nor hers, would allow me to survive if they found I did. Shes got absolutely no qualms with a weapon, (She shoots ALMOST as well as I do), but... er... giving her lethal weapons in this state is not a good idea. (Too many stupid people asking to be introduced to the buisness end)
