putting film on disk
« on: May 22, 2007, 07:28:31 PM »
I'm not a computer guy so please excuse.  I was wondering how to put a film on a disk and play it on another computer.   I tried already and can play it on my own computer but can't play it on a computer at another house.
thanks in advance

Just burn the film onto a disc using your burning software.  From there you should just be able to play it on another computer.  But make sure they have up to date video stuff such as Windows media player, etc.
It shouldn't be to tough, but if you need more help let us know....

V1st,
Your problem may be that you have the AHII film viewer program on your computer and it allows you to view the AHII film files. On this other computer you may not have it so it will not work. I am assuming you are trying to view a film file from AHII and not some .wmv or .mpg type file.

The fix is easy, just copy the AHII film viewer program onto the same disc as your films. Then just load it onto the computer you want to view the AHII films from. You will then need to associate the AHII film files with the AHII film viewer program for it to run them. This is easy. Just right click on any AHII film file and click the "properties" tab. A window should pop up and ask you what program these should be open and ran with. Just scroll through the menu and select the AHII film viewer program and CHa Ching !! You can view them.
