Combat turn, yo-yo, and pitchback
« on: May 23, 2007, 12:50:44 AM »
I seem to be having some difficulty in discerning the differences between these maneuvers.  As I've always understood, a combat turn is simply a forty five degree bank with a pull followed by rolling level, gaining altitude and losing speed, and reversing direction.  A yo-yo is the same except that the roll is later, so that you regain your speed again on the way down.  And I have no idea what a pitchback is.

Also, what do you call it when you turn with alternating series of shallow high and low yo-yos?  Yo-yo turning?
