I had a psychic girlfriend once, but she left me before we met

When I got home last night, my wife demanded that I take her someplace expensive....  so, I took her to a gas station

Isn't there one of the flying ME-262 reproductions flying in Seattle?

I'm sure you can see where this is going.... :)

I think you are referring to this (see link below)? I don't see what that has to do with the B-17 stopping on it's tour here in Seattle?

It's been done already :)

I believe the Collings Foundation that owns the flyable B24 Witchcraft and the B17 909 are going to have one of those 262s as well at some point.

Are the engines on that thing anywhere near being as bad as the originals?

Nope.  Modifed GE engines that are fit into the engine pods.  Looks very good and very reliable

Think they are the same engines as on the F-5 and T-38. One of the most reliable engines ever made - but also gives the new 262 super human performance.

I take it that 262 replica is a two seater.

They build single seaters and 2 seaters.  Depends on the wishes of the guy ordering it.  I hear they are only $1-2M a piece -- I figure these guys should then order one single seater and one 2 seater. :)

Back to the B-17, this one is in the Seattle area now, and then the B-17 and B-24 from the Collings Foundation will be in the Seattle area July 4th weekend.  (The Collings B-24 is the world's only flying B-24.)  For $6 or whatever it is you can walk around inside these aircraft.  For $400 or so you can get a 20-minute ride in them, which is an amazing experience.  When I first heard someone say that they gave rides, I didn't believe it.  I could hardly believe that they let you go around inside it while it's on the ground! :)

I think that it is great that these folks take their aircraft on tour for people to see and to ride in.  It is an amazing piece of history that they are providing.

Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.
