ignorance... to the max?
« on: May 23, 2007, 02:45:40 PM »
Went online for a bit last night. Was flying around the MA when i decided to go into the 8 player arena to meet some friends.

I entered a server whose host was 'Revolver'. At first, pretty nice guy, friendly and reasonable. Eventually we started arguing about the Spitfire. He stated it is completely overmodeled in everyway possible. All I stated is that only the 16 seems overmodeled and only in turning. He rebuttled by saying 'no spitfire could dive so fast. They had wooden wings.'

...

Yes. Wooden wings. Ok, wonderful. Someone who states that the Spitfire is overmodeled believes it's got wooden wings. I told him that in 1943, a spitfire dove to mach 0.80 +. After responding by telling me how much of a bull@#$tter i was, he kicked me. Awesome.

The spitfire really isn't the point, it's how ignorant/arrogant some people can be. Sometimes it begins as a friendly descussion of politics. Ends up in some people getting kicked, even though they didn't say anything wrong or completely illogical. I stand up for them I get kicked. Noobs start playing. Others say 'give up noob, go home' or something like 'leave that dumb lala in the hangar'. After hearing such, I find that's just stupid. It's a game. Games = built for fun. Unless they're really screwing around with you, why would you even be so hostile to them? Bah. Just on my mind.

And to the likes of these HTC held a popular vote for the next addition to the game.

I've seen too many squeakers in here post about H2H.   I've never gone in there, and I don't plan on it.

I've actually had some pretty good times in the 8 player rooms.  It's a good chance to goof around with planes I almost never fly in the arenas.

H2H is fun, you can find suprising people in there...freeloaders that shot offline drones for years and can kill anything that comes within d800 instantly at the end

A bad habit is to set ammo mult to 10....then everyone up nikies and set conv at d650

Many times at late nights when not many are in the arenas I bring up the Freebie servers and contemplate entering.

Then I recall my experiences many years ago with the game Diablo which also had freebie servers. I recall insane setups, rediculous hacks and cheats installed and members of the human race the likes of which I had never met in my life nor now looking back do I ever want to encounter again.

Then I either go to offline practice or log out and watch the tube. Figuring I've had enough of them.

Later,

Oh yes. Full realism wins! And having awesome, custom maps just makes it that much more of a fun place. Too bad some of my buddies hate the cockpit view.
