Wasnt sure where to post this - if its in the wrong place, please feel free to move etc as required.

Quick introduction - I'm an old fat bloke lol, who was put onto this by my bro in law (cheers Kev). I've played flight sims before, but never online. I'm still getting to grips with everything in this fine game, and have a couple of questions.

Whats a good ping rate for online playing (I get 156 at home)
Whats a good frame rate for online playing (currently running at home around the 45fps region)

Anyway, looking forward to being an easy kill for the vets here, and hopefully learning something (even a quick death is a learning curve huh!).

good fr is 50's+, 45 is good though it will work, might get a little warpage in big furballs but those never happen anymore thanks o the B&Z dweebs. :)

Dont know what ping even is and dont care as long as i can fly and kill newbs. If you see me on holler and we'll DA so i can feel like a big man.

Welcome Wurzel!

A ping of 156 is fine to play the game.

A frame rate of 45 is not unusal, or necessarily slow. If everything is smooth for you, that's fine. Potential fps depends on your hardware. Note that it's recommended that Vert Synch should be enabled in your video card settings.

You'll find a lot of information in the Hardware section of the bulletin board if you need help with anything. Also, the links in my signature will take you to information that can help you crawl up that learning curve faster.
