Sodium Benzoate can be found in Coke and Pepsi, and now it has been linked to damage to DNA.

Is nothing safe anymore?

Coke and Pepsi are garbage anyway. Although, there are a couple things it is good for: cleaning blood off pavement @ accident scenes, making girlie rum drinks and cleaning toilets.

I have decided not to care about any of studies about foods and whats healthy or not. Studies always find out that you will be damaged by eating this or that..

Eventually everything is not healthy if used in excess amounts.

And we die anyway, why not enjoy the life while waiting?

Soda was already known to be detrimental to calcium fixation in bones.
It's not like you can't replicate/improve just about any soda recipe at home.

BREAKING NEWS: Oxygen is a dangerous gas that can damage and kill cells. Also dihydrogen monoxide has been found to be dangerous, which may cause cells to burst; especially the vulnerable brain cells.

IIRC, sodium benzoate combined with ascorbic acid can create benzine in some soft drinks. Sodas like Squirt or other acedic flavors had much higher levels of benzine than others.

Some soda makers have reformulated their recipies to avoid the formation of benzine in their product.

This isn't a left or right issue, food safety effects all of us.
