Any good ideas for avi/mpeg to DVD burners?

I have dvdsanta and it works great except it faults out a lot presumably on codecs.  Strangely the same movies work fine in MS Media player.  Anything else that is pretty good at converting and burning?

Does it rip .avi's, .mov, .wmv's etc into the DVD .vob files?  I thought it just burned what you had.

Nero Vision Express does it with the ffdshow codec installed on your system.

I've used ConvertXToDVD with great success.
