Not a fan of the Benq monitors.  If you're going to spend that kind of money I'd stick it into a Dell 24".  I used them at work and just the feel of them is quality.  However, my 20" Viewsonic at home gives me a a pretty comparable quality to the Dell at work (but the contrast ratio is lower and colors not quite as vibrant.  Dell, Samsung, and Viewsonic would be my choices for monitors.  Never been a fan on Acer (low quality stands on some models) or Benq.

I'd recommend this monitor from Samsung: 244t-bk

$689.99

It also comes in silver which is $10 cheaper.  Black paint must be expensive these days :lol

I'm not a fan of wide-screen monitors. I'd rather have the 3:4 ratio of standard monitors, but those are pase now, and the "fad" is now to do widescreen. Forget about games and practical application. Hell it doesn't even compensate for letterbox when you maximize videos on it! It just squishes it more! (not the right thing to do). Then when you DO run something at 3:4 it either cuts off or it centers and letterboxes the sides.

Too bad there isn't a large-size, gamer-quality, 3:4 LCD out there. That would sure get my attention.

Most modern games have widescreen support.  I really can't think of any game I've played that was released in the last year that doesn't support Widescreen monitors.

I must prefer widescreen over 4:3.  For work space it gives me more horizontal room for multiple windows.  Anytime I'm at work and I have to use another employees computer who has a 4:3 monitor I feel squished.  Where's all my work space?

If ya want more space you can get 2 monitors. I'd rather have 2 monitors than 1 monitor with the space of 2 on it.

As a matter of fact, it rocks

I did read it! And you can't stop me! :D

Looks pretty decent, and for a good price. I've got an FP1900 from Dell (19") but it tops out at 1280x1024 and has a refresh time in the 20s (it bleeds). It cost about $300 and so does the one you linked. I think I got shafted :rofl
