How do I change the output device for my sound?
« on: June 05, 2007, 04:51:55 PM »
I like to use my USB headset for voice comms and have my game sound through my speakers.  AH is playing the game sounds through the headset though.  Anyway to change that?

Go to start > Control panel > Sounds

And in the hardware tab you should have a drop box for playback and one for recording. When I had my onboard sound and my Audigy both enabled, I could choose the line in the drop box that corresponded to the output device I wanted. I was also able to take sound in from one device and send it out through the other without any problems.

I don't think the sound from the game is split though.  Unless you used team speak or something, I don't think you'll be able to hear ONLY vox in the headset while the speakers play the game sounds.

Oooooh, I misunderstood the original post.

Sorry, you can't split vox from sounds.
